Barenbrug Horse Master General Purpose Equine Grass Seed is a mixture formulated to provide nutritious, palatable grazing for horses and ponies with intermittent rests from grazing to provide a hay crop.
A mixture formulated to provide grazing for horses and ponies with intermittent rests from grazing to provide a hay crop. The mixture is designed to perform well with low inputs of nitrogen, but well-timed applications before closing off for hay will produce the best result.
This should not be confused with traditional agricultural grass mixtures which have been designed for cattle and are rich in protein and sugars rather than the high fibre low sugar content required by horses. In addition the grasses are shorter due to the horses bite, preventing it being grazed too low and causing problems with regrowth.
