Cercis siliquastrum, also known as the Judas tree, is a spreading deciduous tree best grown as an isolated specimen. It produces a rounded head. A stunning sight in spring when the branches can be clothed in clusters of rosy pea like flowers that are produced in the leaf axils, before the leaves develop. Flowering is followed by the development of the heart shaped leaves and red seed pods. Mature height 10m
