These plants are a very heavy grade for immediate screening. Availablre from late October. These bushy plants are a minimum of 250cm high. They are well branched with the width at the bottom approx 125cm+. Rootballed October 2011. Photinia is evergreen, with dark green glossy foliage, it has beautiful red new growth in the spring followed by masses of small white flowers in early summer which give a hazy appearance from a distance.
Growth of 30-60cm per year. Plants may be pruned hard to keep in shape and regular light pruning in season is recommended to encourage the young red growth. Suitable for most situations it is easy to care for. As long as the soil is not waterlogged it will thrive in most other soils. Sunnier positions will give stronger colouration of leaves and more flower. Being container grown, it can be planted at any time of the year. Photinias are usually trouble-free, but can suffer from photinia leaf spot which is not fatal and is an environmental disorder linked to cols weather, rather than a disease.
